Kirby Super Star:8 games in One Review
by Eddie Alexander
Kirby Superstar is one of the greatest game on the Super Nintendo, with its simple controls and fun gameplay make it one of the best Kirby game to date. Kirby Super Star boasts 8 games in one, with 3 of those games being fun mini games and the other 5 are full-fledged side-scrolling platform games.
In this game Kirby can swallow enemies and use their powers. What made this game different from the other games in the Kirby series, was that there were multiple moves available with the powers and the inclusion 2-player coop.
One of the first games available to you, Spring Breeze, is based around the first game that introduced Kirby called Kirby’s Dream Land. The Great Cave Offensive, is a treasure hunting game with 60 treasure chests. Many would find some of the treasure, you can find amusing because they can range from the Zelda series’ Triforce to Earthbound’s Mr. Saturn. Dynablade’s game has stages that are selected like Super Mario World.

8 games in one but you have to unlock two of them first and you may be in for a surprise
The Revenge of Metaknight is a quest to stop Metaknight and his crew. Milky Way wishes is an intergalactic adventure to stop the Sun and Moon from fighting. There are planets that act as stages for Kirby to explore. The way Kirby can get powers differs in this game because you have to find the different powers scattered throughout the worlds. The cool part about that, is that you gain the powers permanently and cycle between them Megaman style with the L & R buttons. The last game you can unlock is The Arena, which is a Boss Endurance run. You have to defeat all of the bosses in the game without dying, and with limited health resources.
This game is incredibly fun and easy to control. 2 player coop and a plethora of different abilities give this platformer plenty of variety. The games graphics, which were great in the SNES era, have charm that is always present in Nintendo games. If you have a SNES look for this great game or you can pick up the Nintendo Ds version that has extra content.
